‘she been slipping a lot lately … Let’s pray she don’t fall …again,’ one fan comments after watching the clip, referring to the incident where Wendy fainted on live TV due to overheating.
Wendy Williams had a little slip up in the Tuesday, March 3 episode of her talk show. The 55-year-old TV personality discussed the feud between rapper Megan Thee Stallion and her label 1501, but later mistook her for pop star Meghan Trainor.
“Meghan Thee Trainor is another one going through it,” she said during the popular “Hot Topics” segment while a picture of the Hot Girl Summer was shown in the screen behind her. “She’s twenty-five now but she was only twenty when she signed her first,” she continued before she realized her mistake.
“I mean, Megan…, Megan….,” Wendy attempted to correct herself before giving up altogether.
Fans quickly reacted to the video of Wendy making the mistake. “she been slipping a lot lately … Let’s pray she don’t fall …again,” one fan commented, referring to the incident where Wendy fainted on live TV due to overheating. Meanwhile, someone added, “Sis need to take her vitamins, that brain rotting,” with someone calling the host “old.”
Thinking that this might be a good reason for 50 Cent to troll Wendy, a user said, “Someone find 50 and tell him Wendy tripping again.” Meanwhile, some others defended Wendy, saying that “it was an honest mistake this time.”
This is not the first time Wendy mispronounced someone’s name as she infamously called singer Dua Lipa with “Dula Peep.” The “New Rules” hitmaker, however, was all cool with the nickname. “It’s a full thing, it’s a thing now,” she said during her appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” back in December 2019.
“I mean my whole life, my name’s been a little bit difficult to pronounce… Living in London, having a full Albanian name like Dua and people pronouncing it…I feel like I just wanted a normal name: Sarah, Hannah, Chloe, anything, I’ll take it,” she continued.
